Acne is a nightmare. They magically appear just before the
date night or the road trip and spoil those memorable selfies. How one wished

How is Acne Caused?
Our skin has pores which are openings for the skin cells.
Under these pores are hair follicles which connect the pores to Sebaceous
glands that produce natural oil to keep the skin and hair healthy. When these
follicles are clogged with excess oil, dust or dead skin cells, these follicles
tend to swell. Some studies suggest that genetics also play an important role
in causing acne as they determine the activity of the sebaceous glands and the
oil secreted by them.
Here are
the 6 natural ways to get rid of Acne:
1.
Ice Cubes:
Wrap the ice cube in a clean piece
of cloth and massage it in a circular motion around the acne. Repeat it few
times to heal the acne quickly. Ice cools the skin and causes the pores to open
up causing your acne to dry up.

Honey:
Wash your face with lukewarm and
mild soap. Apply a layer of honey on your face like a mask and leave it for
15-20 mins. Rinse it off with cool water.
Honey is effective is not letting
microbes grow, due to its antimicrobial properties. Also, it cleanses your
pores and helps vanish those old acne scars.

Cucumber:
Blend cucumber until smooth, then
apply to your face like a mask and relax for 30 minutes. Rinse with cold water.
You can also place slices of fresh cucumber on your acne.
Cucumber has cooling and calming
properties that reduce redness and inflammation. It also changes the appearance
of the acne and cures it.

Sandalwood:
Make a paste of sandalwood and cold
water and apply it like facepack for 15-20 mins. You can apply thick dots
targeted to the acne prone area. Rinse it of with cool water. Make sure that
you use organic sandalwood powder or try making paste with sandal bark by
rubbing it on a marble stone. Sandalwood has anti-inflammatory properties and
hence reduces the inflammation and also has a soothing effect on your skin
which allows the acne to shrink.
5.
Yogurt:
Take a spoon of chilled yogurt and
apply it on your face and leave it for 15 mins. Wash it later. The lactic acid
in yogurt has amazing properties that it will clear the acne in no time.
6.
Papaya:
Mash ripe papaya with a fork or by
hand. Apply a thick layer of it on the face and leave it for 15-20 mins. Wash
it with lukewarm water and the follow up with a cold water wash.
Papaya contains papain and chymoapain,
two enzymes with anti-fungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties. They exfoliate
to unclog pores, and they provide the proteins skin needs to fight the
formation of acne.
